How do i paint over popcorn in the ceiling?

VERY carefully! I have painted over mine, and it has peeled off in spots. Then it becomes very difficult to patch. Consult your local paint store and don't just get one opinion. You may even want to contact manufacturers of ceiling paint, as they may havea product that is made specifically for this. I wish I had done that. Good luck!

A sprayer or they make a sheepskin (puffy)roller for a small job.
You could sweep the ceiling with a stiff broom, then use a roller designed to do popcorn ceilings.

In the UK, they are selling a paint/stuff which is designed to cover a popcorn / artex / sculptured surface. Application is by a large flat squeegee.
This pruduct must be on sale in USA.
sprayer or they make rollers for popcorn ceilings. Just be sure to do it in light coats and let dry completely between coats. If it becomes to wet it will come off.
