What do you think about towel bars made out of galvanized pipe and fittings?
Question:Is this a silly idea? My kids have a "nautical theme" in their bathroom and they are constantly breaking their towel bars. Would this look too cheesy? Would it be less expensive to just buy some really sturdy ones?

I think it's a great idea! Paint them red or blue and they should fit in well with the nautical theme!
Personally I don't like the "exposed pipe idea" but only because I am a construction worker and see that kind of stuff all day. I have seen some people make that kind of material look nice but I don't see the connection between the nautical and the pipes.
I am a sailor and enjoy the theme you are using in the bathroom but I think there are other items you could use that may match better.
Like an anchor, or a ship's steering wheel?
