Ocean themed bedroom?
Question:My 8-year-old son wants his room done in an ocean theme. He loves sharks! I have already painted his room a cool blue color called "shark loop". Any neat, creative, and inexpensive ideas on how to decorate? Thanks!

haha shark loop
um, you might be lucky and find a shark area rug. that would be way cool
Fishing nets!
Use window film for waves or sun setting over the ocean. You can find cheap window coverings or stickers all over and you may want to even look into ones designed for car windows.
Think of the elements in an empty room and try to color them or find theme products: Light switch covers (these come in designer colors or you can purchase clear ones for application over wallpaper. Put stickers or accents under the clear ones). Electrical receptacles covers can easily be changed to surf white or whatever color you want.
A hanging light with a shark or fin theme can work. There are nautical theme stand alone lamps that you might want to use and who is going to object to having the requisite oceanfaring gear:
Telescope, eyepatch, parrot, Ships wheel, etc. If it's on an old boat it works in the theme.
Bed covers.and of course
Look for sports merchandize from teams that use the shark as their mascot..oh like the Sharks.
this sounds like fun
look for "wallies" they're stick on decorations that can easily peel off later. they come in ocean themes. I've seen them at home depot, target, fred meyer etc. my son has the dinosaur wallies.
Also check out the fabric store. you could string tulle netting across the Ceiling to make it feel under ocean or find a fleece pattern with sharks that would make a good bed cover.
Check out craft stores...Hobby Lobby...Michael's.. for items of his theme, like netting and plastic fish (good sized) a shark if you can find one, suspend from the ceiling in a corner maybe.a lighthouse, boat, pieces of driftwood.
