Is it okay to paint a garage interior with exterior paint?
Question:We have a ton of paint left over that was used to paint our siding, and need to paint the interior walls of our garage. Would it be fine to use this paint for this purpose?
Answers:
Yes but ventilate for fumes
abort..not safe
sure
Sound like a good idea because paint only lasts for so long before is goes bad. The only difference between interior paint and exterior paint is the latter will resist weather. Since it is in the garage it should work great..maybe even better than interior paint.
I can't see why not. If it is latex, exterior then even better for faster drying and less noxious odor.
No ! because in a garage you need to use a flame proof type of paint , Think safety!
i honestly wouldn't, i have had bad experiences using the wrong kind of paint for the wrong job.
but if the paint says for indoor and outdoor then by all means go ahead otherwise i would consider giving it to someone who could use it or donating it to habitat for humanity!
I see no problem with that, especially since a garage door allows some of the outdoor elements slip in, I think that would be a great way to solve moisture problems, and to seal the wood/sheetrock, I mean, if the paint can tolerate the outdoor elements, it should be able to handle the garage.
