Guess I found no gray lovers, LOL??
Question:From what I have been seeing in current home magazines and home makeover shows, gray is a very popular neutral color these days. I love the look especially with a white trim. I purchased a medium soft gray carpet and though that pale cool gray on the walls would look nice in contrast. I don't think gray is depressing as long as you have the right assessories, furniture etc. Its actually known to be very calming in a bedroom. I plan on using turquoise bedside lamps and a variety of grays, browns & turquoise colors in the assessories.

I think that would look amazing! I personally am a gray lover, but sometimes if you have to much it can really make the room have a "cool" feeling especially in the winter. However, I love that scheme you mentioned for several reasons. One, it will give the room a "clean" feeling. Two, it looks really contemporary (assuming that you pick minimalistic/comtemporary furnishings like a platform bed). And three, you will be different. Everyone seems to be following the trend of chocolate brown & baby blue in bedrooms or reds/orange schemes. Also, try adding an accent of fushia or metallic silver.
That does sound much better. I wasn't seeing the accesories. Like I say (even if I am not a gray lover); it's your home and you can do whatever you want!! I love the ecletic look (painted, wood finish, mismatch) I think it looks great, but not everyone does.but it's my house.when they make the payment, they can change it...
LOL
I love the turquoise. Another color to throw in would be reds or burgandy...just touches.pillows, etc.
Good LUck!!!
we had gray in our living room when I was growing up. the carpet was a dark burgundy, and the couch was off-white. I never thought it looked dark or depressing.
I'm not a big gray fan, but I think it would make a good, cool base to work from.
I can see it in more modern themes than anything else.

Grey is a beautiful colour and just right for modern homes. It can be used with many different offsetting colours.
It is not depressing or dull as people think but sophisticated, calming and very stylish.
You can use Blue Greys with reddish, Pink-Red , Or Pink colours and Warm/Smokey Grey with Orange, |Yellow Orange, Bornt Orange various blues, Lime Green, Brushed Silver and if you have a minimalist style a Translucent effect looks particularly good with it. These colours and effects can be created with accessories.
Don't let anyone tell you it is depressing. Along with other colours I love Grey especially in modrern styling and interiors.
