Shaw carpet, 55 oz . is this good?

Question:I know nothing of carpet, but I need to get carpet... I got a great deal on Shaw carpet, 55 oz. Is this good?

if you like a heavier carpet that would stand up to high traffic, then yeah. If it uses Stainmaster yarn, then you will have a great carpet. A 1/2" 8lb pad really isn't necessary; a 1/2" 6lb pad would do just fine. It all depends on your living situation: is there a lot of people living there? If so, a heavier pad would help with the wear and tear of the carpet. If it is just you or you and one other person,the lighter pad would do just fine.

thing is to get the best is a 8lb padding. you can cut cost on carpet but if you use the standard crap padding it wont felt as nice and your carpet will last about half as long as it would using the good padding.
