How can I keep my room clean?
Question:I am 14, and have a medium size room. It seems like whenever I really clean my room I can't keep it clean. Summer has just started and I would like to have a clean room, but I need some helpful ideas. Any ideas on my closet either? My closet is probably 5 feet by 3 feet with various shelves. Does anybody know how I can clean my room and keep it clean?

Try these tips:
1) Purge. Go through your closet and donate anything that does not fit or that you don't like. Go through your dresser/desk drawers and get rid of anything you don't use regularly.
2) Put winter clothes in a bin with your name on ii in the basement or garage.
3) Get some wooden shelves or plastic bins. You can find all different sizes and colors at Wal-mart, Meijer, Big Lots (great low price), etc. Organize things by function.
4) Put things you use occasionally in a bin in the back of your closet or under the bed where you can reach when necessary.
5) Put things you want to save from your childhood, but not have out in your room (like favorite childhood books or toys) in a bin with your name on it in the garage or basement.
6) This summer, each morning after breakfast do a quick 5 minute tidy and straighten up any mess from the previous day.
7) If you keep it neat, you only need to vacuum/dust once every two weeks, unless you leave your windows open, then dust 1 -2 times a week.
8) Do not eat in your room - or if you do, never let food or dishes sit in there. Take dishes to the kitchen as soon as you are finished.
9) Use a light deodorizer (I love Febreze) once a day on your bedding and carpeting and drapes and in your closet, or if your parents let you, burn a nicely scented candle when you are in the room (blow the candles out when you leave your room).
Good luck!
Good for you!
First you need to look at what is causing the "mess". If its clothes, get some hampers. They make ones that hang on the back of your door, so this way it's out of the way. If its papers from school, go through them and get rid of what you don't need.
If you need additional clothing storage, see if you can get some storage boxes that fit under the bed. So if your out-of-season clothes are taking up room in your closet, you can get them out of there.
Places like Target, Walmart, Linens 'n Things, all have different storage and organizing items that should help you sort it out in no time.
this is what you do...
when you take something out you put it back. it isnt that hard to keep a room clean. if you are the only one in there that it shouldnt be that hard. keep your clothes folded and put away and put your dirty clothes in the hamper by the washer. once a week clean your room spotless. dust, vaccum, fold and strighten.
the best way: is to take a day off from going out and just clean ,clear and organise your stuff. usually its takes a day or two ,depends if u r a slacker like me . then from that day on as soon as u take something out of place when u use put it back in its place rather they throwing it somewhere.that way u don't have a pile of things to organize and u won't find it that discouraging to put it back where it needs or should be.
well u can start by puttin all the clothes that dont fit u in a garage sale or donate it. then u can go through all ur drawers and get rid ofanaything that u dont need/want. u can also dust vacumm. once u get in ur closet put shelfs and arange stuff so u will remember.thats the best advice i could give u
happy cleaning
