What color should I paint my room ?
Question:I'm 13 and I'm repainting my room. I don't like light colors but prefer vibrant colors . I also don't like cold colors like green and blue, i have light brown floorboards and would like the paint color to be something I wouldn't get sick of in some years time .
I know I'm very picky but anwsers would be VERY VERY helpful :)

You're not picky, you're particular and in tune with your taste. So I therefore suggest that you decide on some anchor element--a favorite chair, a comforter, something that you can use to tie your wall color to your room. Let it be the color du jour--your taste, ESPECIALLY at your age, will change dramatically in the next few years, so why drive yourself nuts trying to predict what you'll like at 16, or 17? Do what feels good NOW. After all, painting takes, what, a day? But for reference, think about some of these colors: shell pink, a warm color of orange, or even something taupe, which will definitely transition well with other genres.
maybe find some wall paper that you like because you can always take it off when you get really sick of it.
It depends on what type of 13yr old you are(really girly?) how much daylight you get in your room and what type of furniture you have. My sugguestions are the french look that has the hot pink and black stripr w/ a black and whit border of paris scene's and you can find pic's on the internet for decorating sites and at least there you can sort of find something you like
I would ask one of your parents to take you to Home Depot or another home improvement store where they have paint samples. (they're free!) Pick out some colors you like, bring them home and tape them up on your walls. That way you can randomly see which colors capture your eye and narrow it down to your favorite. Make sure the color goes with everything (your flooring, window covering..etc) and if you need inspiration, pick a favorite painting or something similar you have in your room and base it off that!
