How to decorate with buttons?

I inherited quite a collection of vintage buttons and do lots of unique things with them. I have covered the tops of candle jars after being cleaned out and use them to store bathroom essentials, like cotton, bath salts, Q-tips etc. I covered those wooden tissue box covers with them. I've covered buffet lampshades with them. I've covered frames with them. I made napkin rings by covering wooden rounds with them. I made a small window cornice box covered with them and used them also to decorate the tie backs. I use the metal ones by clipping off the shank to glue on to surfaces. I like to use the metal ones to embellish tassels. I also have friends save unique liquor bottles that I clean out, embellish with buttons and use the bottle wick liquid oil converter kits to make outdoor citronella lanterns. I've used them also to embellish pillows and the band on decorative handtowels.
