Down comforters vs. down alternative? what's the difference?
Question:I really want a down comforter but they are so expensive! I've looked into "down alternative" ones instead but i don't want to sacrifice comfort. Are they that different? Can the average person tell by looking or feeling it? I don't care about "hypo-allergenic" or even how warm they are, I just love how comfortable they are for sleeping. Would you recommend down alternative for my needs?
Answers:
People usualy buy the alternative down instead of the real deal for one of two reasons - price & allergy to down feathers.
Other people buy the real down instead of the alternative for
reasons of warmth and comfort.
Initialy both will have similar comfort factors but the alternative types will not last nearly as long, however
some of the newer alternatives (and more costly) are
very difficult to tell apart from the real down.
shop around & happy sleeping
i'd just spend the money.. you'll have it for life so why not splurge
a down comforter is the blankie of all blankies. theres no other like it Once you get a down you will always sleep safe and sound LOL for real
A real down comforter or coat is filled with duck feathers (down). That is what makes it comfy. So shucks spend the money for the comfort.
The alternative is probably fiber filled and will probably eventually ball up get uncomfortable over time.
