This is what i recommend. You will have to pushed the bed either against the wall or window. I strongly recommend getting lifters for your bed so, it can be used as a storage area. You will need to throw away a few things or sell them or give them to a charity due to your small space. Organizing your cloest is very important. You have space on the bottom and possibly shevles. There, you can place folded sweaters on the shevles and have a plastic drawers for walmart to store your undies and socks. if you place your pushed your bed against the wall (pock-a-dot side) you can place the floor lamp between your head of your bed and the window or get rid of the lamp for a floor lamp with one stem not mulitple. With the bed against the wall, everything thing else can stay where it is. Of course the small table be place to your desk. I still stress organization. Good luck.
God, what a mess?? Do you actually use that desk? Those polka dots would drive me crazy:-(
Is there a ceiling fan in there? If not, and there is a light in the ceiling, that can be replaced with a ceiling fan with lights, perhaps one with a remote control. I bought mine from Home Depot, they are brushed nickel with reversable blades, either black or mahogany, your choice. Really cool fan.
First I would empty the entire room out. Strip the wall paper, use a little dish soap and warm water with a sponge.Protect the carpet, put down some plastic on it so that it dosen't get wet. Wet the wall thoroughly and peel off the wallpaper. Be sure to get the brown backing off for sure, wet it as well and peel it off. Let the wall dry for a day or two. Then paint. Stick to one color for the walls, that way the room will appear larger. I found a very nice color, it's called Simple White, and has a slight purple hue to it. Paint that room. Then paint all the trim in your room with a oil base white. That baby blue trim that you have is aweful and makes the room look smaller. The trick to painting with oil based paint is to thin it with a little paint thinner so that it goes on smooth. What would you think of your bed being up on a pedestial? I would check out freecycle and see if I could find a queen size or a regular size bed. Find someone, maybe again on freecycle who can build you a pedestial for your bed. Under the bed, at the back, build a computer station. Towards the back, on each side, build some drawers, from top to bottom, for your unmentionables. A couple of large mirrors would make the room look larger too. Check out freecycle, I'll bet you will find some. Add some nice window treatments and a balloon valance..your room will look much better

Good Luck:-)
One more thing, all of that dark furniture makes a room look smaller.
Hon, I can see you need drastic help! Why is it such a mess? Is it because you don't have enough storage to put things away? You first need to start going through your closet and chest of drawers, toys included. Get rid of clothes that do not fit you or you have not used in a year. Donate any toys that you do not need or try to sell them at a fair.
If you want, you can email me and I will tell you what I need you to do in order to gain some control over your space. Re: sizes of these pieces and what pieces that you are willing to eliminate? And what type of budget do you have?
Do you have enough money to paint and buy some curtains?
What is on the floor? Is it carpeting? Could you afford to purchase some other type of workstation, rather than the desk? I know that you will want to do it the least expensive way, but I would need some dimensions.
Are the polka dots paint or paper? And how much later do you plan on painting?
Let me know and I will do my best to help you out.
