How difficult is it to change the drain fitting and control knob on a bathtub?

Question:I'm re-tiling my bath/shower. Since the walls have already been ripped out I thought it might be a good time to replace the fittings in the bathroom. I really like the oiled brass color in bath fittings. It would not be too difficult to replace the knobs, downspout and showerhead with the brass color that I like. The problem is that the drain for the tub and the knob that opens and closes the drain are silver. I would have to rip out more wall to access these and I don't know how difficult they are to replace. Is there a way to color them brass?? Or should I rip out the wall and go for it? Or should I just stick with silver?

Answers:
You don't need to rip out anything if you have the kind of drain closure that has a spring assembly and striker rod. Check out: http://www.dummies.com/wileycda/dummiesa...

Yes you would have to rip out more wall to get behind the tub. Even if you painted them brass, probably wouldn't be an exact match, and not as durable as the brass plated fixtures your installing. I would just leave them in.
it is not very hard.
u dont have to rip out a wall, you be better off leaving it silver, might run into other problems more expensive.
