What are some ways I can make more room in my bedroom?
Question:I have a bed(takes up one wall), computer desk (pretty big, takes up one wall), and a wall unit (takes up other wall), average size closet, and lots of room in the center of the bedroom. I am a college student, and need to find a way to make my room seem like it has less things in it. I have lots of papers.a few books...bunch of dvd's.music...tv...stereo.. don't know my room is pretty small, and my mom won't let me take master bedroom even though it's empty and she doesn't use it.I just feel like there's a lot of things in my room, and I feel restricted to space. I NEED MORE ROOM. Although I don't have much...What are some ways to create more room. I don't want to buy expensive containers, cause damn.20 dollar for a magazine holder...crap. Anyways let me know.

ok..if you can somehow put the furniture in your room that it will create 2 areas. pull one part of your furniture (for example : bed) off your wall and pull it more to the middle of the room. Now you have a whole wall you can put shelfs up. organization is key when you have a small amount of space and lots of stuff to store. If you are short money, go to a she store and ask for empty boxes...glue some nice stuff on 'em if you like and put them on your self for cd's etc...
Also you can keep an eye out for a box that goes under your bed for stuff you don't use much. It's also easy to hung stuff off your ceiling.so it's hard to tell what would work in your case. Hope this gives you an idea that helps...
I have a small house with small bedrooms. The best investment we made was to buy loft beds for our kid's rooms. The bed is raised up, and it fits a desk and dresser under it.
Take off closet doors and build yourself shelves in the closet. You don't have to buy those expensive systems. Just some shelving planks and racks. Paint them up or cover them with wallpaper to make them look nicer. In my one son's room, we put his dresser in the closet. This added even more floor space.
I bought a daybed for one of my bedrooms to make the room appear larger. There's room for wicker baskets under the bed. Also, a foot locker or trunk will hold a lot of stuff. To save money, plastic storage containers at Walmart or Targets are cheaper.
