Garage sale signs?
Question:Im having a garage sale tomorrow, so tonight I want to make some really cool signs that are really noticble, any ideas?

Oh yes--I think I invented yard sales--lol--have had many--Go to Wal mart or Walgreens and get neon posterboard and black scripto markers the thick ending where you write is best I think the Green Neon is best---and make baloons on them after you put your information on it you might write a few things you are offering like toys or furniture or kids clothes etc.--get nails and a hammer or tape that will not blow away--like the electrical tape I guess would work well---Anyway say Big Yard Sale, put time, street address and whether it is a Saturday sale or Both Friday/Sat sale--and date of sale--nice if you can use arrows to place on signs to direct people from main roads if you live in a subdivision--You can ask if you can post your signs in the community grocery store--usually they will let you and make sure to post it where it will be seen--post in all high traffic localities close to where you are having it--Best to make the signs the night before--nice if you can laminate them in case it rains--I always put a helium balloon bouquet--get your own balloons at a dollar store and then take them to the local place where they sell flowers/balloons and they will blow them up for you--This helps to get attention! Also don't forget to make sure you got a good cash drawer in advance--like lots of quarters--etc and 12 or 15 dollar bills a few fives and perhaps a couple 10's.It is to your advantage to have it all priced before you open--then you can dicker with them if you want later. Give em a deal and they will buy more!It helps when it is hot out to buy some ice and put in a cooler with some cokes and diet cokes--people get hot when they yard sale--also cookies and brownies are a hit and some folks sell donuts. have a 10 cent, a 25 cent box and put stuff in those--some people have a free box--nearing the end of your sale, oh yeah make sure you got bags--local grocery will usually give you a pile--,nearing the end of your sale when you wanna get ready to close down--you can sell stuff you dont wanna have to haul away--just give people a bag and say all you can stuff in there for $5,00--you can get rid of a lot like that--or maybe $3 if you are real tired. Have fun and remember--one man's junk is another man's treasure!
I took 2 pieces of plywood, painted them white, then did lettering in black. I connected them by putting 2 hinges at the top so you can just set it on the ground and it won't fall down or get folded from the wind and it is reusable.
Use bright color poster board and make sure they are large enough for people to read...there is nothing more frustrating than to have to pull to the side of the road to read a sign because it is so small. Hope you sell lots :)
Use "spinners" like you see on the street corner directing people to new housing projects. You can get the neighborhood kids together and make a day of it.
white posterboard, foam shapes, bright neon lettering, and add some balloons!
with an arrow that states follow the balloons!
stick a balloon on each telephone post leading to your house.. it's an easy way to direct people to your yard sale and it's a no brainer for those who don't ask for directions
