When I moved into my apartment recently, I was going to a Tangerine orange color scheme to matct my KitchenAid mixer. I wanted orange window treatments, but I could not find anything that I liked locally so I ended up not have the orange as a prominent feature in the kitchen.
I personally think a color in the green family works extremely well with orange. I'm mostly familiar with Valspar colors so here are a few suggestions (sold at Lowe's Home Improvement Stores, it's absolutely wonderful. Little to no paint smell and the coverage is excellent.) My first suggestion is a green color called Eden Prarie. It's kind of like a sage green and I think if you mixed it with a nice Khaki color it would be excellent. I dont know what room you're doing, but if you havent found your draperies. Waverly fabrics has a textile called Sutton Square and it is the perfect color and it would be wonderful for use as window treatments. I think the khaki walls would be universally appealing, but you do have the option of doing something more bold.
You could pick the wall with the least amount of obstructions (windows, doors, etc) and divide it into stripes. I think a combination of navy, orange, and khaki would be striking because not many people paint walls navy blue.
It depends on the shade of orange, but a light yellow would probably look good with orange curtains.
Depends on size of room -- a deep forrest green for a large room, a mint green for a small room
Or a really brillant yellow either size.
Red also goes good with orange depending upon which side of the color scale the orange is on.
The color also depends on what type of room, bed room, living room, play room. and if a bed room you may want the very dark colors to darken your room for sleeping, for a party room -- yellow and reds mixed
Get a color wheel and have a ball with your personality, room usage and size
How about a toned down orange, like apricot? Or a beige so you balance out the heat of orange with something more neutral?
i suggest u use some kind of bright color like yellow
or if its sort of big
use blue
if ur room is going to be crowded
stick with yellow
if ur the neat kind of person
ure dark green
or sky blue
Yellow would work nicely. A shade of blue, perhaps turquoise blue, would balance the orange. Beige would work. Chocolate Brown would be very dramatic, though dark.
FLORESCENT LIME GREEN WITH PURPLE POLKA-DOT CIRCLES!---with this color scheme , you'll have no need for your first strong cup of java in the morning.
I would suggest a shade of green. The particular shade would depend on the exact color of the orange curtains. You could also go neutral and choose a brown (medium or dark). Think about your accessories and you might find inspiration from a favorite print or vase.
I suggest painting your walls the color you want and changing the curtains to match the walls. You can find inexpensive curtains easily. Why try to match orange? Put up white or cream colored curtains and your walls can be any color you like.
My mom once had orange curtains and carpet and couch! The walls were painted a light olive color.
