Orange lamp?
Question:Hi, I want to pain a lamp into the orange colour. Will acryl do it?
Answers:
i don't know. if you are talking about the lamp STAND then yes it probbably would.
if you are talking about the lamp SHADE, then no. acrylic is solid no light would get through!! you can however get fabric paints or dyes and all you do is mix it up in a bucket put the lamp in, leave , fix it hovever the manufaturers tell you then use it!
but because it's a lamp which ever part you might also want to look into stuff to protect it from the heat of the light bulb because some paints or dyes can be flamable and soon your orangle lamp might turn into a ball of orange flames!
yes .. but u could also use tones of green,... yellow,, even black
What material is the lamp made of?
If you have some highly glossy ceramic thing, you might have a bit of trouble - and you'd need to sand and probably prime before you can paint.
If your lamp is wood, you could use just about anything.
Plastic would require special paints - they sell spray paint now that would work for it.
I suggest going to a paint store or a large craft store (Hobby Lobby, for instance...) and check out what they have.
Depending on material, you could always get a special primer and then you could use your acrylic paints.
