Would this rug go well with a black leather sofa? Would red walls go as well? What should I do for curtains?
Question:I was thinking about the bamboo looking shades with curtains on the outside. How does this sound/ look?
Answers:
A black leather sofa and red walls is crying out for a rug with a strong black and white statement - like one of these

Hi Ambee:
I love the rug! Yes, it will go with a black sofa and red walls. If you choose bamboo blinds your room will appear more "casual", I would suggest ceiling to floor curtains in a cocoa shade.

I had some experience with decorating and remodeling homes! My advice is that u put a black and white striped
rug with a black leather sofa with red walls and then put black blinds with red silk curtains! It will look fantastic!!
I think the rug would go very well with a black leather sofa. Red on the walls would coordinate, but be mindful of other aspects of the room - size, flooring, lighting, ceiling height. Make sure the red won't overwhelm. A crisp khaki (I know sometimes overused, but really a great backdrop) would highlight your furniture and rug and other accessories (where you can go crazy with color/texture/pattern) and it also won't darken or shrink your room. I love the bamboo shade idea. For curtains you could go with sleek black or pull more red in or there's some rich toffee looking color in the rug as well that would add a splash of color. Curtains can be so fun and make a dramatic change to your room, but you also want to be mindful here of the purpose (if any other than decor) they serve. Happy decorating! Sounds like fun!
I'm certain that it will give the room, an elegant Oriental apeal, especially since it should definantly compliment your bamboo looking shades. and black can be considered an oriental color.
If you're looking for an Asian theme, this rug is perfect.
If you're looking for a more italian theme, something more green and less red. Bamboo and black scream Asian/Oriental. The colors red, also yell Chinese. You may want to tone it down for a less dramatic look with a peanut butter color. or something more in the shaded oranges. But the rug will compliment the red.
It sounds good though, Oriental and Yen are the new thing.
I'm not sure if you're trying to pull Italian, or Oriental. Either will work, depends on other things in the room.
all these are warm colors, it's best to think about what side of the house you're on too, the room may feel a little too warm/hot, with the warm colors. If the room generally feels cool and breezy, definantly go with warm colors. if not, Greens may be a better choice to add more of a cooler feeling into the room. I'm not sure if you go with the Feel, or if you are more with the apearances.
I think thecolor of big selvage is matches with the base, this carpet looks pretty good, in my opinion, the outer feature is not the high qulity carpet, looks like the machine make carpet, if the veins looks more close it will be high.
i know some about the carpet, please feel free to contact with me, I am glad to give some idea to you about the carpet.

I would do two walls red and two walls a matching shade of the blue from the carpet, and then do floor length curtains in another color picked out from the rug. I'm tired so I couldn't really see too much from the carpet. A nice dark brown would look good.
Good luck!
