Aluminum or wood for patio cover for back yard?

Question:I am going to get quotes for a new patio cover. I have wood now that is very old and weathered but I have noticed that they are pushing the aluminum ones instead on the internet. Anyone have any thoughts on the differences. I am sure cost will be a big factor.

Aluminum looks nicer after time and is much cheaper.

For patio (cool space) of building if use metal roofing heat will get two times more than wood , also raining in aluminum
will cues of aluminum oxide which is poisons . And will cost you 2 or 3 times expensive than wood .Addition flashing aluminum is not easy.
