What color bedding would go well in a lavender bedroom?
Question:The trim is white and the carpet is smoke gray. The furniture is all birch. So far I've mostly found bedding that has lavender flowers and things of that nature but I would like something more modern. Also, I keep finding bedding that is completely purple or has shades of it-I can't seem to find any color variation/contrast like is the case with the teal/chocolate sets that are everywhere. I'm thinking of trying a pastel yellow or a green of some sort.

Don't waste a lot of money dragging home ugly, cheap bed-in-a-bag sets from Linens 'n Things. Go over to a paint store and get some paint chips in lavender, light yellow and soft green. Then decide what is pleasing to you before hunting for the right combination. There are lots of variations in grey and lavender particularly.
If you decide against the chintzy floral that most people would use, you may want to venture out to Calico Corners or designer fabric store (even Joanne's) and have bedding made in a 50-60's geometric fabric utilizing white, grey, lavender and green, and accent pillows and accessories.

I agree with the first answer. . .take your time on this.
The only addition I have is that dark chocolate brown accents colors like lavender and light blue surprisingly well.
spring - indian sari-inspired silk with heaps of cushions
summer - white broderie anglaise
autumn/fall & winter - purple silk/satin
make it yourself and make your bedroom your sanctuary.
a sage green would work nicely. the right shade of melon or tangerine would be dramatic. the pastel yellow would work as a great accent with these colors. you could use it in candles, or flowers, or throw pillows.
