How much does it cost (on average) to put in a new window?

Question:I would be putting it into my bathroom which now does not have a window and I would have it professionally done and they would have to cut through siding (if that makes a difference). Any estimates would be greatly appreciated?

Answers:
Depending on the size of your window, say just a small window such as 24" wide average cost at HD would be around $95.00 for window alone, materials to frame in window (2x4's) maybe need 4 of them 8' long at $2.85 each and then off course the labor cost, thats where you have to look out so you don't get overcharged, depending on the siding and work to go through your siding (vinyl I'm assuming) I would charge total for materials and all labor probably $600.00 total for job. Off course if you go with a bigger window your materials cost will go up. A larger window around 36" wide would cost you around $130.00 so be sure to keep that in mind as well.

Best of luck!

250.00 or so depends on size of window, this is installed
