Spray paint kitchen appliances?

Question:Hi, i am just about to have my kitchen ripped out and a new one fitted, and i was wondering if anyone has spray painted their kitchen appliances, and what did it look like after? I am buying a new washer soon so i wont bother doing the washer but i wanted to change the colour of my fridge frezzer, dishwasher, and tumble dryer, but i am dubious incase it looks a mess after. If anyone has tried the same please give me some pointers as whether it turned out ok or not.
thanks

Answers:
I spray painted my dishwasher to match other appliances, and it turned out better than I anticipated. The washer worked fine, so I didn't want to incur the cost of a new one.
Just ensure you buy paint that is manufactured specifically to paint appliances. Then paint slowly, following the directions completely. The bigest mistake is initially spraying a coat too thick. Spray at a distance aprx 8 - 10 inches away, and go slowly. Be patient and apply several light coats, according to the directions.
My washer turned out with a nice even sheen, that doesn't even look like it was painted after leaving the factory.
Give it a try, if it fails, you've only lost the cost of a can of paint, since you don't like the present color or your appliances now.

Good luck

i've never done it, but it will look like crap. It will strat to chip and wear off quickly, and look horrible. If you are redoing your whole kitchen, why don't you just get new appliances?
Standard spray paint will not hold up to the regular use of appliances. It will scratch, chip, or peel in a very short time. On a stove, it might discolor from the heat too. I would strongly recommend against it.
The only specialist paint I have seen for doing this is white. In the UK I have never seen other colours.
It needs very careful application.
You also need to consider how you will paint the deacls and transfers e.g. on the washine machine ou will have the chart with clothes and temps etc.

Why not leave them gloss white, it goes with everything.

.
If these appliances are plastic use Krylon paint for plastics.
you need to prepare the surface or it will chip. go for it have everything one colour. PINK.
Anythings possible, but I say no, the smell of paint in the kitchen when you cook. A dishwasher, if it catches on fire, the whole kitchen is destroyed
It is much safer to buy new appliances or you can go to a store and buy used. Sears and other big store have outlets that sell appliances at almost whole sale prices, they are new but floor models or out of stock models. they are new with a warranty, but very much cheaper. I bought a new washer that would have sold for $600.00 I got it for $275.00.
