I found a house I love?
Question:but it has light bamboo floors..I like dark wood..can bamboo be dyed?
Answers:
Easy. "Minwax" (and other companies) make transparent all in one stain/poly-varnishes that you can apply right over your floors. They even come in primary colors.as if the world needed that.
Have fun and thanks for "recycling" an existing home instead of building a new one.
It can be ebonized. You might note that bamboo is very soft and doesn't hold up well in high traffic areas. I regret using it in my kitchen. It is not a hardwood!
don't know but i found a house i love to I'm in Arkansas
I don't think bamboo floors can be re-stained. Bamboo is not hardwood, it is a grass and in the process of making it, it is covered in a layer of laminate. However, the good thing to know is the bamboo floors are relatively inexpensive and that they keep up well from hard use. Bamboo has a hardness rating of 1642, it can stand up to a lifetime of use.
You could take up the bamboo and lay down a dark laminate.
