Those small ones are not that expensive try home depot or lowells
Appliance repair shops usually sell used items, and bonus they fix them before they sell them. Check the yellow pages.
I agree with all the answers from people who answered before me, but would like to add one thing...
Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Lowes are great. However, no matter which you go to, ask if they have any discontinued models that they are willing to sell the floor model for a discounted price.
My wife and I were able to find a $700 refrigerator for $250 (with delivery). Just imagine what you could get a mini-fridge for if it was the old floor model!
My girlfriend finds all her stuff on Livejournal through the University's little community. She's bought two fridges and several pieces of furniture for her apartment there. I'd also try Facebook; they have those marketplaces and whatnot. Just think of it this way: for everyone looking for a minifridge in college for their dorm, there's someone else looking to get rid of it because they're leaving the dorms. Just look around school, ask around, etc.

Both Target and Walmart have several small refrigerators for under $100.
