Recessed electrical outlet after drywall...HELP>>>?

Question:I Have a cinder block hse (1964) and have installed drywall. Now the outlets are recessed. How do I move them forward to lay flush with the dry wall? The outlets are in a medal box. There are no wood wall studs to move them to, only cinder block...

My husband is an electrician. He says use an extension ring which you can get at Home Depot or any hardware store and they can tell you how to install.

You need to go get longer screws that hold the outlet in the box. Take the screws out at the the very top and bottom of the outlet and take them with you. If you go to an electrical department of a large home improvement store, you shouldn't have any problem finding them. If there happens to actually be someone working in the electrical department (a real rarity at some stores) then they should know exactly what you need. Or you can go to an old-fashioned hardware store, show them the screws and tell them what you need and they'll hook you up. You just put the outlet back in with the longer screws. If you have any questions, feel free to IM me.
