Where can I find in Michigan good railing for my front porch?
Question:I currently have the standard (black painted) iron railing. Two of my neighbors have more up-to-date rails, but they had them custom made. I want to be able to just buy it from a store and have them easily installed.

Home Depot, Menards and Lowe's have a decent collection. If you're in the Detroit area, there are some really cool places on Warren Rd and Schaffer Rd in east Dearborn that have very cool custom Arabic designs.
Check your local flea markets, antique stores and salvage yards. Or you could paint the ones you already have for a cheap and easy update! They can be easily primed and painted with spray paint.
Most lumber retailers in Michigan have a variety of railings that are very nice. They will vary widely in price depending on the style and quality.
