Answers:
in the uk there is a product called gyproc easy fill you can plaster with this as you can sponge it smooth when its wet and you can sand it with a fine sand paper when its dry to get a nice smooth finish

Go down and talk to the nice folks at Home Depot. They can give you instructions, and sell you all the stuff you need.
If it is not a real big hole dry wall compound will work. If it is a whole wall it would be better to replace it with drywall.
joint compound, trowel or lg. putty knife, floor covered & if u want it w/ color... paint

It's really easy but it does take time. but then u can b creative ...have fun

i love doing it
do this yourself..its relatively easy..if i cna do it ..anyone can i guarantee that!!lol..go to home improvement store..like menards..home depot..lowes etc..tell them what your prob is and what you need to fix it.. i usully get spakling to use on cracks..and some holes in the walls..it comes prepared already.. use a putty knife and level it over the area u covered..then make sure its as smooth as possible then sand lightly ... ready to paint!!
or you can buy plaster and mix it yourself..add enough water to make a pasty substnce a little bit thicker than pancake batter..and do the same..spread over the area needing repaired... smooth dry and then lightly sand..drywall is great to use as well...if you have a latge area..cut the drywall to fit..get some joint tape drywall compound...put drywall up...smooth a light coat of compound to the seams...apply tape over that area and then another good coat of compound..smooth then sand and ready to paint paper or whatever
Plastering is not as difficult as it may appear, I know, because we have done it ourselves, we're not professionals!. It also gives a superior finish to render.

You need gyprock sheets, wallboard adhesive, clouts, a good straight edge, a stanley knife for cutting the plaster, jointing tape, corner tape, and top coat.

A hardware store has brochures to guide you thru' the process. They also have all of the materials you need. Some hardware stores even have staff there who can advise you from a technical perspective.
