What tiles would look best with 'space cream' and 'space burgundy' kitchen cabinets?

Question:I have a kitchen with MFI space cream cabinets on the bottom andspace burgundy cabients on the top (it sound strange but it looks good!) and a black granite surface. I want to re-tile the kitchen or at least part of the kitchen but don't know what colour tile to go for. It is a relatively small kitchen with only one window so I would like to make it as bright as possible and have a black and white tiled splashback and then white tiles above the surfaces with the rest of the room painted white. Will this work? Can you have white tiles with cream cabinets? Will also be putting in slate flooring? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Answers:
i think if your going to do slate flooring i'd do a slate color tile backsplash instead of the white and black backsplash , then i'd do an off white paint that is just a shade or two off of the cabinet color

i think it would look to hodge podge if you do the black and white with the slate and the two tone cabinet look and the white walls .....too busy too much going on

i think the slate and the cream and burgundy cabinets with the black counter will look nice so you dont want to add too much more colors in there

If you have that hidden lighting that MFI do under the units(above the worktop) white, if not go with cream. In any case Granite worktops will take the glory!
How about stone colored, grey (medium grey) color.

Slate is nice but you can probably by a laminate version.
We don't have MFI in the US, but I just looked at their website and love the cabinets! I don't think I'd use bright white tiles with the cream cabinets. Perhaps a barely off-white or eggshell color instead. If you're using black granite countertops on the cream cabinets it might be enough of a break between the cabinets and backsplash to get away with bright white, but I think I'd look for something that APPEARS white, but has more of an off-white or barely ivory color. Does that make sense?
B&Q do some nice slate grey wall tiles - I'm having some put up next week.
