If you've got the time, the "resale" shops are often quite good; Goodwill has some awsome bargains. A friend of mine decorated his whole home from there and with top of the line furniture; rich people get tired of their stuff and donate for big tax deductions.
If your in a hurry, (for example, my wife and I needed some stuff in a hurry because of family coming in), Gallery furniture can't be beat. They have everything from budget to top of the line and deliver for free I think. A bit high pressure, but get an idea in your head what you want and the quality you want to pay for and stick to your guns and you'll have some fun.

Gallery Furniture. Awesome deals and a very nice owner. The man that owns Gallery is a model to the community. He does alot of major things for less fortunate children and is very charitable to many organizations. Alot of his profit goes to charity.
He always donates brand new furniture to families in crisis and have been thru disasters. Sometimes complete homes, every room.
