when its not level i suppose!
set a marble on the area you think is not level. IF its not up to your expectations then that is the time.
Standing middle or one wall. Place small ball on floor. Does it roll, pick up momentum? Do this on all four walls.
My family found out our tiled floor wasn't level when they spilled a bucket of mop water and it all ran ...under the piano!
take 2 1 inch nails. Put a mark on the nail exactly in the middle which would be 1/2inch. on both sides of the room nail the nail until the mark is on the floor. tie a string around them and slide the string to the head of the nail. measure up and down the string, mostly in the middle and on the ends. that will tell you if you have a dip or dips. If the floor is concrete you just have to use concrete nails or use the marble method. but the string method works best. It will show you how much of a dip you have over a certain length(which is what contractors need to know when Installing flooring...etc)
