go to BigLots. There are usally some good deals on flooring items. Or check out some salvage yards or companies.
If you're talking about concrete basement floors, pretty much anything inexpensive will still need floor prep, that is, cleaning, etching, leveling, in order for the flooring going down to stick. If all you care about is looking good then, clean, seal, and paint the floor.
Paint. I painted our basement floor a cream color, then
sprinkled different color drops of paint on it and sealed it with 3 coats of polyurethane. I used left over wall paint that I thinned with water, and the color drops were craft paint. The polyurethane was all I had to purchase. It is a 24 by 24 room, and I used about one and a half gallons of poly. It's concrete floor, and already had paint drips on it. My husband had finished the walls, and we were out of money to do anything with the floor at the time. Company was coming and I wanted to use the space.
Why don't you stain the concrete? Just use a concrete cleaner and then apply a color stain, then top off with a sealer. It's nice, cheap, and you can do it yourself. It depends on the condition of your slab but if it's in good shape then your looking at a couple hundred bucks.
