Question:I have an estimate on remodeling my bath from Rebath in Dallas, their web site is http://www.rebathtx.com , and my mom had an estimate in Los Angeles from the same company, http://www.rebathcalifornia.com... and their price are different is it because one is in Texas and the other in California.

Yes.. materials, labor and transportation costs vary state to state ..if you want to build a "Redwood" deck in California, Oregon or Washington you pay a hefty price, but in Texas, tack on a hefty special order fee, as redwood is abundant on the coast while it's quite hard to come by in other parts of the country. If you want to put a steel roof on your house, it's cheaper in Texas because corrugated metal sheeting is manufactured in abundance in Texas.
Are the specifications of your job and your mom's exactly the same - same fixtures, same existing bathroom but different location. This along with the variance from location to location is the difference.
As the first two answers indicated, costs in California and in Texas are going to be different. Just as it would be for having the job does in a metropolitan city as compared to a small rural area. Labor costs will vary drastically in different parts of the country just as material costs will.
As asked in the beginning of this answer, the extent of work to be done also has an impact on the cost. It would be very hard to get two estimates to be the same for two different jobs unless both houses and the work to be done was EXACTLY identical - and probably next door to each other.
