What color/style nightstand should i get?
Question:I decided on a black steel bed for one of my bedrooms but i dont know what type of dresser or nightstand to get with it. It is not sold as a bedroom set. The store suggested that most people who buy this type bed get black solid wood furniture like an armoire or chest to complement it. i am not into matching since i have eclectic taste just wondering for some suggestions.

With a black steel bed any color would go with it. You could try to match or tone in with the floor or wall. Or you could go with a contrasting color, although probably best not to have more than 3 or 4 colors total. It also depends a bit on the size of the room, i.e. the larger the room, the more colors you could use, if you want to. Also, because it is a bedroom, maybe you should use paler pastel colors rather than bold primary colors.
The main thing is to have fun with it!!!!
Maybe look for a painted piece of furniture, like with reds or something. A lot of them are Asian inspired. I have seen lots of neat painted pieces in the nicer furniture stores. If they are too pricey, at least you can get ideas and try to find a cheaper version.
If your not into matching get something yellow. It doesn't match. yet it does.
Get a 2 drawer file cabinet, top it with a wood circle and
put some fabric over it to hide it. This will give you a night stand
and storage while you consider other options. Keep looking
for a dresser. One will "speak" to you, and then your room will fall into place. Seriously. I needed a new sofa, and a friend said that to me, and I am so grateful! I have a beautiful living room, and it all came together after a lot of looking, but
a sofa did "speak " to me within a week after my friend told me that. They make some really interesting tool chests that look sort of like night stands and/or dressers. Good Luck.
