Which direction should i install laminate flooring??

Question:

Answers:
with laminate you can run it in any direction you want. but it does make a difference in the size of your room, depending on how you make the direction of the boards run.

if in a single room does not really matter if joining to a hall,I prefer the strips going length wise down the hall, just my preference.
it really doesn't matter, lay the flooring down both ways before you start, and see which you like best......
it depends on the look you want in the room... running it the longest dimension, the room will look longer and thinner, running it the shorter dimension the room, will make it look wider and not as deep... lay some in each direction and you will see what I mean...
If it's going to be in an open room such as a great room, why not try running it diagonally? I've seen it done in new construction and it's a really nice look. But like the other guys said, lay it down and see what you like.
my contracter laid it oppisite the direction of my floor joists,I don't know if there's a particular reason for it but I'm very pleased with it
