Question:

Answers:
first sand and refinish it then seal it with thompsons water seal for decks my furniture is 5 years old and looks brand new i keep it out on an uncovered deck year round in tennessee

Stain it, paint it whatever you want. Just check and see if its sealed with polyeurethane, if so you'll have to use a 'deglosser' before you paint it.
Clean it thoroughly, sand any rough spots and old paint, then spray with a marine varnish. Repeat when the finish starts showing wear.
sand it really good with medium sand paper then fine sand paper, then dust it off good and wipe it down. Seal it with weather seal and to be safe coat it twice, it will hold up forever.
After you get into shape again, try keeping it covered in the off season. They make special shaped covers or a nice cheap tarp and a few well placed bungies will also do the trick. This way all your efforts to keep it looking great when you use it aren't undone when you are not using it.
power wash it, let it dry, and then use a wood sealer like thompson's on it. It will ensure that they live through another year.
