What is good to seal a floor from pet urine to prepare it for laying laminate flooring?
Question:The past owners undoubtedly had roughed up this floor. I want to clean it up real good before I put down the muffler or pad for the laminate floor. Thank you.
Answers:
seal it with a Zinsser product called "Bins" and then a cheap urethane, had to do this for my son when he purchased his house and you'll thank me for it on those hot humid summer days, good luck Les the painter, Bins comes in a clear or white pigmented, use the clear.
Actually the product is called KILZ .

We bleach & water mopped ours a couple of times (dry completely). We did not do a seal coat. Finished with muffler layer & laminate flooring. That was 3 years ago. We had no problem.
I have used just plain old bleach, but I have also heard that Kilz is great stuff too.
