I am a single Dad. How can I set up furniture in my daughters room.?
Question:Being a single Dad When my daughter comes to visit I want her to know it is hers and hers alone. However I need to make the room also functional as a Guest room. What kind of furniture should I use and how do I keep it intact as her Bedroom. She is 5.

Let her pick the colors, and the accessories. You could get her a bed if you wanted to, but I saw something that was MAGICAL. Check with her first, and see if she likes it, but you can set a tent up (an oldfashioned one, not a camping one) by using fabric and put her bed on the floor, with lots of pillows and you two can cut out start together and hang them up. It's going to be a magical place for her to sleep on, and she's going to love it.
But first check with her and see what she wants. She's going to need a bed, some place to put her private stuff, and a couple of booshelves for sure.

easy one dad! let her pick out the comforter and sheets and accessories. i got my daughters bedroom set at Meijers. we had to put it together but she got to pick it out and everything matched. get a sign for the door with her name on it. dont forget a place to put stuffed animals and special lamps she likes. a dimmer swithc is nice to have for 5 yr olds who might be afraid of the dark. good luck. enjoy your time with your daughter, they grow so darn fast. my littel one will be driving in a few months.
day beds are always a good idea -- that way it can be a chair and also function for a kid's bed as well as a guest bed
How nice that you care so much. You can get beds that have drawers built right in them.Saves space.Even tho she is only 5 ask her what she wants. It's best to get 2 single beds or a double depending on who is sleeping over(guests)I wish you luck on being a single Dad. You sound like a great one☺
If it is hers and hers alone, you probably really shouldn't also use it as a guest room. Unless it is absolutely necessary.
She will need a bed, a dresser, a night stand, and either a book case for toys and books or a toy box of some kind. These can all be bought fairly inexpensively second hand at tag sales or auctions. To make the room hers, involve her in setting it up. A five year old will know exactly what colors she wants, and would love to go shopping for new bedding and pillows. Have fun!
No matter what ever bed you choose, make sure that you change the linen. Get a kids theme linen with bright colors for her or make her choose the linen for her room. When she is not around and you want to use the room as guest room change the linen appropriately.
Also you can have an empty rack or hanging rack in the closet that she or any guest can use with their stuff when they are at home.
