Redecorating My Bedroom?
Question:Yes, finally, my mom has agreed to let me redecorate!
So I'm a 14 year old girl, a sophmore in highschool, and I still have the bed room of a 5th grader *sigh*
My room is pretty small, ok it's near downright tiny
I was thinking of a color palet of blues and greens, or pinks and something else
I love books, and I have a ginormous bookshelf in my room that really doesn't match anything, so I was thinking...shelves? Maybe?
As you can see I'm so utterly confused!
Does anyone, anyone, have any ideas for me to decorate my room? Color schemes, Redecorating ideas, Projects, anything! Please Help! Ohh and budget really isn't a problem as long as its not TOO over the the top :D Though I really wouldn't mind any money saving tips, and my parents would be througly grateful! haha :]

The least expensive way to get started, and make a difference in a room, is paint. What you could do is look for a new bedding set or pictures for your walls, and use that to help you pick colors. Look through some decorating magazines especially ones geared toward bedroom decorating and decorating on a budget. They can give you ideas for color and what you may like in your room.
Also, make a list of what you do in your room and what you could use. For example, since you love books, you should have something, whether its a bookcase or shelves, to hold books.

I would do an upscale mod look. Think black and white print on the bed, black and white furniture, and accents of girly pink and lime green throughout. It's sophisticated, but fun.

I'm hearing bookshelves, and I'm thinking built in. It's going to make your room look awesome. Check with a grownup for how to build one, and have them help you with the cutting of the wood and all.
Blues would be awesome. Maybe a moroccan theme? Arabian Knights? That would be so awesome!
You should check out PB Teen website or catalog. I always see really awesome bedroom ideas in there. Some of their stuff is really expensive but they do have unique items. If nothing else maybe you could get some ideas. I would suggest painting or staining the huge bookcase you already have. It would save a lot of money if you don't have to buy shelves or a new bookcase. If this bookcase is too plain you could always add some crown molding around the top or other accents pretty easily.
