Has anyone bought a Jason Whirlpool tub or a corner tub 55x55?

Question:Or perhaps a Jason Delizia DE4646 Whirlpool tub? We are planning on buying a corner tub for our bathroom and it has to be a 55x55 inch whirlpool tub. We would also like to know what a lateral skirt is and what it is used for. Is it better to buy is from the same manufacterer or have the installing company make a custom one. If anyone has ANY suggestions please feel free to answer. Thank you for you help!

We did not purchase a Jason model as we settled on a Kohler set in.
Since the tub in on the bath deck, we did not desire a tub that sits up on the deck as does a conventional tub in the typical bathroom arrangement. A set-in fits on the deck floor like your kitchen sink arrangement sets-down-into the counter top. Because the tub is a set-in, it does not need finished sides, which you refer to as a lateral skirt. The lateral skirt hides the rough mold finish of the actual exterior, tub sides.

You ask if the skirt should be obtained from the manufacturer or custom made? My suggestion is to get the manufacturer's designed skirt produced specifically for that model tub, which is the Lateral Skirt DSK55. Their skirt will be more economical than a custom made.
