Answers:
Okay lets start at number 1
Paint for walls: What I would do is the color you best like if you are a warm type of person then tend to the darker colors like Tan for instance and if you are a medium type who is both go for a medium based color like light purple or even a light yellow or it can just be white. What I suggest is you painting the base boards white it looks pretty good with pretty much any color.
2. TV: For this I would get a TV that is not to small you can't see it and I wouldn't get a TV that takes up a whole wall! That would be cool but seriously I would look to get a TV around 20-24 Inches and probably no bigger than that you can find these at Retail stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, Target and any other store that may sell electronics.
3. Bed Spread: I would get a color that would match the color of your room but remember you don't want to get something that you are going to get sick of easy. What I usually do is get a 2 sided spread so when you get sick of 1 side switch it over.
4. Rugs: I would get a rug that has lots of comfort it may cost more but your feet will love it. On this you want to get a rug that will go with pretty much anything. Because if you decide if you want to re- paint your room and the rug don't match there is money down the drain! You could also try little area rugs which aren't that expensive and they come in all sorts of colors and designs. Or just use Hardwood floors!
5. Shower Curtains: If you have your own bathroom go ahead and get a nice color or some intresting waterproof fabric. If this is not your batroom I would get something everybody else will agree on.
6. Lighting: In this you would probably want a overhead lamp like most houses do on top of the ceiling if you don't know what I'm talking about. And maybe a desk lamp and a regular standing lamp. They also have those different color lightbulbs too.
7. Furniture: I would get a Mushroom chair they are easily foldable and could fit underneath your bed if you don't want it insight and you could include a beanbag chair but I don't think they are comfortable no more.
8. Pillows: Be careful with these especially if you have bad allergies because pillows inted to collect a lot of dust. I would get all sorts of pillows all different sizes and shapes. I think Wal-mart would be the best place to look for those.
9: Fresh things: Air purifier, Glade Wisp, Nice sunlight and any other objects you like. Ex. Posters, Pictures, Statues etc.
This is your room but I recommend you don't go to crazy you want it as simple as possible the less there is the easier it is to keep clean. But this is your room you do what you want. Have a save move and have fun with your knew room.
I hope this helps and sorry for all the writing.

I have an 11 year old daughter and I am an interior decorator. I wanted to make sure she had a room that was not too child-like but one that would grow with her as well.
Here is what I did:
Her room is an Indian/Morracan themed room. The bottom portion of her walls are a deep, dark red as well as part of the top portion. Along the middle (about chair-rail height) is a white border that we used a simple stencil on (sort of a scrolling look) using gold paint. The very top 6 inches of the wall are white, with another stencil pattern (in a deep red) with a yellow glaze over top of it. Looks completely GORGEOUS!
The rest of her room has trunks (found at places like Cost Plus, garage sales, second hand stores) with large brass fixtures. This helps "hide" her "stuff" and acts as a night stand as well.
We also found some GREAT fabric prints of Indian art work. I used brass upholstery nails to hang them on her walls.
She has a deep red comforter with tons of pillows..all shapes, sizes and colors. She can toss these on the floor when she has friends over for "seating".
Her curtains are red, orange (pumpkin orange), pale yellow and white.we used about 8 curtains for one window to give a luxury type feel to the room. They are floor length and when drapped back, they have an added drama!
We have picked up other knick-knacks along the way for decorating..from Cost Plus, Targets World Market, and even Home Depots outdoor area! Think of brass, elephants, wicker (natural---not painted white!) and anything "word travel".suitcases with faux travel stickers, antiqued globes, etc...
This has worked well for her the past few years and she really has no intention of changing it (yet!).
Hope you have a great time no matter what look you choose!
