I have stains in my hard wood floor, but sanding isn't working to remove them. So, does anyone have ideas?

Well if sanding doesn't remove the stains,now you didn't say what color the stains are,and they are dark-almost black-you are out of luck.
Dark stains on hard wood floors that don't sand out are more often than not caused by cat urine.Cat urin stains will not come out of hard wood floors-it goes all the way through.The affected area(s) will have to be replaced.
Even if you sand and re stain the whole thing dark you will still See them---Cats are death to hardwood.
I'm guessing that you may have to bleach the wood to get the stains out. I haven't done this myself, so I can't advise you on the methods. However, I would think that you can go to Home Depot or a similar store and get some information there.

hey, I haven't tried this yet but it may work I know it works on furniture..I would think it would do the same for wood floors..if it is a water stain of some sort..get some mayonaise and a cloth and rub it really good down into the stain, it works good on furniture ..then cover it with plastic wrap this will seal in the mositure from the mayo..it will be amazing how it works I have had water marks on my dining room table and wipe it down with that mayo and then cover it and then the next day it is back to its self..I hope this works out for you if it does let me know because I am putting in wood floors in my house this week so it will be good to know..my father taught me how to do this he was into furniture refinishing and stains..the person that wrote in about cat stains now that may be a problem..I will ask my flooring guy about this too ok..good luck to you.!! my email is rvinchick@aol.com
