Can't remove bedroom wall stickers??
Question:We're re-doing my younger sisters' room and they have princess wall stickers that need to be removed before we can paint. Unfortunately the stickers won't come off, no matter what. The stickers chip off, piece by piece, and the wall paint that is on now comes off with it also. We believe that its plastic coated, which is why using water or a hair dryer won't work. Any ideas?
Answers:
Use alcohol and other solvanets
well try using a blowtorch! carefull though..
I know this sounds crazy but lighter fluid works for me. Ronsonol lighter fuel to be exact.
well, you know those paint removers? you can get that and remove the stickers! it is probably going to take the previous paint off but who cares? you are going to paint over it right? so plz pick me as best answer please.
try graffiti remover. You can get it at most hardware stores!
scrape off as much as you can with a scraper or blade. Also try painter's tape to try to pick off what's left. Then use strips of tape just as you would to cover a crack in the wall on top of the sticker and paint over it.
try getting the plastic topping off of the stickers and then use peanutbutter... the only problem is that it will leave peanut oil stains on the wall that you have to prime over in order to not have it bleed into the new wall paint... but its the cheapest way I can think of to do that also try taking a razor and put little holes in the sticker to help the oil absorb into it... good luck with the stickers
