Answers:
It would be a good idea for your family to sit down and talk about what colors you all like. Do not paint the room or any other room used by the entire family a color that even one member does not like.
The color you choose also depends on the mood you all are going for and if you want a "theme" for the room. Also consider decorative items you may already use in the room. Are you decorating around already finished cabinets and floors?
Some popular kitchen colors are:
golds
sage
wheat
yellows
reds
clay or coffee
natural colours is alwaysa good start, like cream and sky blue =]
rouze
From my point of view, I would like to suggest light pink. Darker colors are bound to darken the room as they absorb light. Pinkish orange is also a good colour as it reflects back and gives more light to the room and at the same time it looks more comfortable to the eyes. Never use bright colours.
beige
mine is bright orange...orange is the color that gives you an appetite and is used in restaurants
Turn on the cooking shows on your television and see how the kitchens are decorated..
Watch it with your parents, that will give them a good idea of what they want..
Bold colors...like orange and red
i personally feel that it should reveal how people think, or live, or, have something to do with a theme! something that you love! something that excites you! the kitchen is usually a very central room in the house! lots of people going in and out! getting snacks, making cookies, cooking a meal! it should be a pleasant and comfortable place to be in! don't be afraid of color! if you are creative, go for it! i love ice cream!! i love the flavors, the textures, and the colours of ice cream! so, needless to say, i am starting to give my kitchen an ice cream motif!! my husband thinks i'm nuts, but, who cares!! he has no taste! lol lol
i hope that i helped!!!
reds and yellow entice the appetite. cool colors such as blues make you eat less tho!
Yellow and Red stimulate appetite. That said, my own kitchen is a warm shade of gold that picks up the flecks of color in our granite countertops.
Alternatively, if you have pottery/china/artwork on display there, pick up a prominent color from that and use it for your wall color.
