How do I paint freshly plastered walls?

Question:I have painted my walls with cheap emulsion for the first coat, and this seems to have worked, and not peeled etc. However I have been told that I should be using a primer or such like? Have I done any harm to my walls?

Answers:
No you have not.

Newly plastered walls need to dry thoroughly prior to painting etc.

The emulsion should seal the plaster so it is not too adsorbent.

If it is absorbent still then apply a sealer over it.

Good luck

watered down emulsion is recommended, so what you've used is fine for a base
