What do you think this centerpiece?


Question:It will consist of a quart mason jar filled halfway with sand and a tealight in the sand. The jar wil have a wide wired patriotic ribbon tied around it for long tables seating appx. 30 people at each. It is for a family reunion on June 30th.

Sounds great! Anytime you make something from scratch, that's a big plus.


Not to be rude, but I think it would appear skimpy. How about using several jars grouped together? You could put some on small boxes of varying heights (or florists foam), cover the boxes with a piece of white (red or blue) cloth then place the jars on top. Use one long piece of ribbon running the length of the table, and tie a piece the ribbon around each jar.

When you run the ribbon down the tables, don't lay it flat, but run it this way and that way through the various dishes. I hope this makes sense.
