Any tips for decorating my Living Room?
Question:What should I use in my living room to make girls feel more comfortable and make it look not so much like a boring guys living room?
I have a black couch, black loveseat, black recliner, a floor lamp, a silver coffe table, and two matching end tables. I have a huge wide screen t.v that sits on the floor. I also have 2 Guinness posters up and a poster of Fenway Park. So it's rather boring and i just want to make the girls I have over (and the ones to come lol) much more comfortable with that "at home" feeling.

Black is good. It is very modern looking and it allows you to play with color. Brighten up the room by adding reds, oranges, yellows, blues, and so on to your color pallete. Add some window curtains to soften the room up a little bit. Add some life too!! put living things in your living room... such as a floor plant or two and maybe a some friendly cute frogs on display on a table. Put LOTS of diferent colored pillows on you loveseat and couch. You should also get a floor pillow or two. They are really comfortable for watching movies on! You're pictures are fine. Just add some more color to your walls. I like baseball alot and i think fenway park is beautiful so i would suggest getting more pitures of it to hang on your walls. You should also get table lamps, maybe in red and a big floor rug in red also. Add some shelevs also if the space permits and put books and maybe a stereo, and maybe a vase of colorful flowers on a middle shelf. You dont have to use flowers if its not your thing. They see these colorful sticks that spiral and look really cool at walmart. Oh yeah candles. Put a couple candles on your coffee table that smell really good too!! It'll make you room smell nice and make it a little more romantic at the same time! ooh lala! lol

Have lots of throw pillows on the seat and on the floor, put a rug, take out the Guinness posters, have some framed pictures of you and your family around (black and white is good in keeping with your theme), most important: keep it clean. There's nothing better than a clean-smelling room.

ok... hi... i have some ideas that i hope you'll like:
1. where are the colors? color is the number 1 mood controller... yr black is good but not alone... u haven't stated what color wall are... if u need to change, go for warm colors as they will make your room cozier... try red, orange, or yellow if u like any of them... for walls, accessories, and rugs... if not try dark blues or greens...
2. vary your textures and patterns... for example use something coarse or fluffy with your sleek silver tables...
3. remove clutter if u have it... no one is really comfortable with clutter... and try to find something neat for the TV to sit on...
4. choose nice creative accessories... like colorful pillows to accent your sofa and recliner... a nice area rug... sexy but not provocative posters or paintings... other table accessories...
5. always keep color harmony in your scheme
6. use medium-wattage warm incandescent lighting if u don't already have it... it's romantic and cozy and flatters faces... girls would love that... if have an activity, then assign a high-wattage task light for it like lamps...
7. finally, have a positive attitude and confidence... if not for girls' sake then for yours...!
