It sounds like you're going for something quite traditional. You could try the following:

There are many websites full of decorating ideas, to get you started try the link below. Also do a search for 'decorating idea's' or 'home decorating' +bedroom.
If you are after a specific 'old white furniture' look then try second hand shops. The furniture has lasted a long time and is more likely NOT to be fibreboard stuff that falls apart rapidly! You can buy a wardrobe for £10-15 and paint it white and rub it down with sand paper for that antique look.
As an idea for your room.keep all accessories pale white/pinks for a soft and breezy look.
The second link may help youwith your decorating also as you can see what your room looks like before paint etc.
It depends on what you are looking for, but maybe you should try some antique shops
If I knew what part of the country you are living in, I could make some suggestions.
Most cities have a posh furniture shop that will be worth a look. When you do go in, haggle hard, the mark up on furniture can be as high as 130%.
Another idea is to try the antique shops, not only will you be buying handmade, crafted furniture, it will increase in value.
I like to buy junk shop furniture and give it a make over.
At the moment I am transforming a hideous orange pine unit that cost nothing into a modern useable piece.
I have painted it lime white by Farrow and Ball, replaced the knobs and it is looking good. The friends who were throwing it out now want it back!.
Try it, it is very satisfying and you have unique furniture.
try looking for a joinery firm local to you if you are looking for wooden furniture they could probably make you what you want out of any timber you want i.e oak, maple, mahogany etc etc
charity shops second hand shops even car boot sales can often have cheap but good items for refurnishing and decorating rooms
