How much does a simple teak bed cost (in Rupees) in Bangalore? Do I have to haggle?
Question:I just moved to Bangalore and need to buy some furniture. I'd like to know what the average price range in Rupees is for a teak bed and sofa. I only plan to use it for a short time while in Bangalore, so don't want to invest a lot of money. What is a fair price I should expect to pay? Many furniture shops don't seem to have price tags. Does this mean I have to negotiate the price? Any advice on common negotiating practices would be appreciated. Thank you!

Teak is forever. Too expensive for short term use. One has a wide range of other good options.

Teak would cost you almost 25-50K based on what design, features, size, quality of wood that you want.
If you would like to just use a bed for while and throw/resell it after a while, then why go for Teak. Instead buy some cast iron or plywood beds which would come cheap in the range of 10K.
You can negotiate any thing in India. So go for it. You could get discounts anywhere between 10-50%. I would suggest you to got a reputed shop where they would have good afetr service in case of termites, broke etc., and the prices would also be standard. Any toher local shop might niot be reliable as they color wood to look like teak or refurbish old/discarded beds.
