What is the best way to hang T-shirts from the wall?
Question:I have a bunch of shirts from concerts and stuff that I want to hang on my wall. What is the best way to hang them so that they don't fold over or hang away from the wall?
Answers:
Double stick tape! or you could always frame them!
strong stick pins or push pins
Get some inexpensive frames and put them in there. Like poster frames then they wont get dusty .
Use inexpensive curtain rods that you can pick up at garage sales, thrift stores or even Kmart. Use two nails. at each end, (sticking out of the sleeve of your tee shirt) pounded in at an angle to secure in place. If you have a matching cap, or other memorabilia you could add it to the rod either on the ends or at the neck of the tee shirt!! Simple and quick!
The only thing I can think of would be to either push pin them or staple them. Neither will cause damage to the shirts, as they are small holes and can easily be removed when you want to remove the shirts.
Otherwise, putting them in frames (especially if you still have the concert ticket stubs to put with them!) would look quite nice.
Or have you considered having the shirts photocopied in color and making a wallpaper collage with the copies and modge podge glue? I kinda think I would opt for this... Not only would it not harm the shirts in any way, but you could photocopy both the front and the back (which is important with concert shirts and sports shirts) and use both. Today, with the quality of pixels you can have them copied with, this could be a fantastic way to invent your own wallpaper. If you want some tips on how to apply the papers and the modge podge, you can email me and I'd be glad to help you out.
Oh. and hanging them as wallpaper instead of using the real shirts will make it easier to hang them... Be artistic, don't hang them all in a straight line...
1. Place shirt inside a wire clothes hanger.
2. Mount a hook on the wall (one with a peel-off sticker on the back).
3. Place hanger on hook.
i use to frame pic & shadowboxes... we did lots of jersey =t-shirts w/ tickets etc..golf coins/...etc...
If they r of value 2 u, then frame them. Michaels carrys shadowboxes now & u may have to fold the bttm. part under but u can use ACID FREE tape & tape them to the back. Or u can squish them in frames which would help in perserving them. One thing I must say, IF they r of value & worth DOWN the road, u may want to get UV glass to protect them from indoor light/ daylight, nt. light etc.. or they will eventually fade & their value will b lost.
IF u want to go a really inexpensive way... yes. pinning them to the wall would b cool but then u have little pin holes in u'r walls. So my suggestion. Get COLOR foam board, pin them or tape them to this.. u can get hangers for the form board then hang them on the walls. IF u can't find the hangers, ask a frame shop. They should have them & sell u some.
hope that helped.
