Sun damaged wooden frame where corner protectors were....HELP!!?

Question:i have a wall mirror and it had corner protectors on so when i removed them it is now visible where they were...any ideas on how to remove the marks?? i have tried sanding, to no avail!

You'll find it nigh on impossible to get a perfect colour match by just treating the corners. You could use woodstain to colour the corners,make them a feature, with a definite line at any edge where the corner protectors were achieved by using masking tape. Or you could feather the edges when you apply the woodstain, with the brush, freehand, to give an effect on each corner. (you could use ordinary paint too, matt or gloss) Either way, get a contrast of colours that you like , only other easy alternative is to colour the whole frame.
