Bedroom Walls?
Question:I am painting my room chocolate brown and I have a turquoise accent paint but I dont know what type of design to do. any ideas its my bedroom.
Answers:
Do like a marble look... sponge paint.
Pretty colors. I recently painted my bedroom walls with 2 different shades of green stripes about 8 inches wide. It was a little time consuming masking the walls into even stripes but the end result was really nice. It almost looks like wallpaper.
Maybe that gives you an idea.
unicorns, green unicorns
Native american colors, try native american designs.
Or you could go with pictures of african fertility gods.
Does your duvet cover or bedspread have a turquoise design in it? If so, you could reproduce that design.
It's hard to tell you what to use as a design, seeing as I don't know what you like... I mean, I could tell you to do circles. some really large ones, some medium ones and some smaller ones, a bit here and there around the room. You could even lighten your brown with some white and lighten the turquoise too, and use these different shades of the same color to add interest to the circles... but if your room is a country feel, circles will feel more contemporary... if you have a country design, you'd probrably prefer a gingham design better. it all depends on what it is you want to have as a mood.
There is a suggestion I have for you. go to your local hobby and craft store. Check out the stencils you can get your hands on that interest you and would look good with your decor. Use those to reproduce a design on your walls.
Or then again, you could always just do a nice big turquoise square as a headboard to your bed and hang something funky and brown in the middle that fits with your decor.
It really all depends on what mood you wish to portray...
How about a nautical Compass Rose? I have one tattoed on my left bicep in about those same colors!
POLKA-DOTS
After you have painted the walls the chocolate brown and let it dry completely choose one wall to put a pattern on in the turquoise. Maybe a pattern from a piece of material that you like. You could trace it out on clear plastic and use an overhead to project it on the wall. Just draw it on the wall with a pencil. Then paint away.
How about a faux finish on an accent wall?
A single glaze application perhaps.they are the easiest to do. You can even dab some metallic (silver) in various places. Use a badger brush to soften it as you go.
If you hang a lace table cloth on the wall, you could paint over with the teal and that fancy lace design will come out on the wall. A lot of work but it might look cool.
I see circles done on the decorating shows alot.
try American Indian deco, blankets, head dresses, ect.. it is real cool ! These colors will make it POP! Also try to include animals such as wolves, and eagles, even cattle skulls.incorporate turquoises jewelery in your room, as accents.
you could put a chair rail in and paint the lower half of the walls turqouise, or paint your furniture in the color to accent the walls.
These are beautiful colors.and very modern. Geometric shapes would be really cool. I don't know if you like retro or modern, but these colors sway towards those directions. Have fun!
Art Deco effect,Turquiose borders,Chocolate Brown on the walls.beautiful...
You can do pocka dots, but that maybe a little weird. Or you can color the out lines of the windows or the doors.
